MIYAKE Sho 三宅唱 was born in Hokkaido. His debut feature film Playback showed in competition at Locarno in 2012. In 2019, And Your Bird Can Sing was presented at the Berlinale Forum after premiering in Japan in 2018. His other major works as a director include the music documentary The Cockpit and the Netflix series Ju-on: Origins.
