A new audiovisual experience by TOYODA Toshiaki, who went to Sado Island and filmed musician Koshiro Hino and Kodo, the local Taiko Performing Arts Ensemble, while they performed music composed especially for Shiver. A rhythmic, hypnotizing and very musical film that tells its story through just sound and image, without dialogue. The film vibrates your mind, soul and body. Shiver will be accompanied by TOYODA’s latest short, Go Seppuku Yourselves, the closing chapter in the Okami Yomigaeri Yama trilogy, following Wolf’s Calling and The Day of Destruction.

Before getting into filmmaking, TOYODA Toshiaki 豊田利晃 was a shogi prodigy from age nine. At seventeen, he quit his apprenticeship at the Japan Shogi Association to pursue filmmaking. His directorial debut Pornostar (1999) earned him the Directors Guild of Japan New Directors Award.
