Masato is working as a ramen chef in Takasaki. After the sudden death of his father he finds a suitcase containing the journal of his Singaporean mother, who died when he was just ten years old. With the journal in hand he embarks on a journey to the land of his mother, hoping to find his relatives. A gastronomical delight of a film, fusing the cultures and cuisines of Japan and Singapore.

Chefkok Masato werkt in een ramen-restaurant in Takasaki. Nadat zijn vader plotsklaps overlijdt vindt hij een koffer met daarin het dagboek van zijn Singaporese moeder, die overleed toen hij tien was. Hij besluit het land van zijn moeder te bezoeken, in de hoop daar een aantal familieleden te vinden. Een heerlijk melodrama waarin de culturen en keukens van Japan en Singapore samenkomen.
