Naomi dreams of leaving home. He meets Maki and they quickly become friends. When Maki’s blind stepmother gets seriously ill, they come together to create tapes for her of an imaginary trip around the world. While recording, their friendship becomes more intimate, but neither dares to express this except through rough horseplay. A sensitively told tale of two young men under social and personal pressure.
Naomi droomt ervan om zijn ouderlijk huis te verlaten. Hij ontmoet Maki en de twee worden snel goede vrienden. Als Maki’s blinde stiefmoeder ernstig ziek wordt, gaat het duo voor haar samen bandjes opnemen van een denkbeeldige wereldreis. Tijdens de opnames wordt hun vriendschap steeds intiemer, maar dat durven ze alleen te uiten in ruige stoeipartijen. KUDO Riho graduated from the Department of Film Production at Kyoto University of the Arts in 2018. Orphan’s Blues was her graduation project. She now returns to CAMERA JAPAN with her second full-length feature.
