Parallel Botany is an on-going project that explores the kingdom of artificial plants. It questions what the culture of faking nature means for mankind. HONDA Sae seeks out the inherent value in artificial plants, which we have learnt to see as merely an alternative solution. The series of photographs were taken in Guangdong province in China, a centre of production for artificial plants.
‘Parallel Botany’ is een voortdurend project waarin het koninkrijk van kunstmatige planten verkend wordt en dat vragen wil oproepen over het belang van nepnatuur voor de mensheid. HONDA Sae zoekt naar de inherente waarde van kunstmatige planten, waarvan we eigenlijk verwachten dat het slechts een alternatief is. Deze serie fotos is door haar gemaakt in de provincie Guangdong in China, wat het productiecentrum is van kunstmatige planten.
