Two old college pals go on a mountain trek in a blizzard to commemorate the death of another member of the mountain climbing club. When one of them gets injured, he makes a shocking confession just before the pair finds shelter for the night in an empty hut. This is only the start of a breathtakingly intense acting duel that is heightened by a hallucinatory visual style that takes advantage of every inch of the location. YAMASHITA Nobuhiro 山下敦弘 is a graduate of Osaka University of Arts. His graduation film, Hazy Life, earned him his first award at the 2000 Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival. He has been recognized internationally with works screened at Busan International Film Festival, the International Film Festival Rotterdam, and Tokyo International Film Festival. His first popular success came with Linda Linda Linda in 2005. Since then he has built a substantial reputation for himself in Japanese cinema. YAMASHITA has been on a creative roll in the past year or two. CAMERA JAPAN 2024 will present not one but five (5!) of his films.
