Naïve-looking youngster Daisuke is on the run from the police when he meets a young woman who is trying to escape her toxic boyfriend. They decide to travel together, sharing their desires, memories, dreams, and maybe an impossible love. A delightful road movie that seems very typical at first, but there’s a twist: Daisuke’s travel companion isn’t a normal girl, she’s actually a zombie. Though the encounter between a fugitive and a zombie might sound like the most bizarre movie plot you have ever heard of, the two characters turn out to have much more in common than just their need for escape.
De onschuldig ogende Daisuke wordt gezocht door de politie als hij een jonge vrouw ontmoet die op de vlucht is voor haar gewelddadige vriend. Ze besluiten samen verder te reizen en delen onderweg hun verlangens, herinneringen en dromen met elkaar. Een heerlijk klassieke roadmovie kortom, maar wel één met een twist: de jonge vrouw in kwestie is namelijk een zombie! Dat klinkt misschien nogal bizar, maar wees gerust: de twee hoofdpersonen blijken veel meer met elkaar gemeen te hebben dan enkel hun verlangen om te vluchten.
About the Director
IMAMURA Eiichi (今村 瑛一) entered Nikkatsu Visual arts Academy after graduation to pursue filmmaking. Starting off as assistant director, IMAMURA currently works as a freelance filmmaker. His feature-length directorial debut Beautiful, Goodbye (2019) won the Special Jury Award at the 2019 PIA Film Festival.
