CAMERA JAPAN is pleased to welcome Lisa Klompe, our new Managing Director. Lisa will work closely with Alex Oost, the Festival Director, to make CAMERA JAPAN even better!
Lisa has worked in the cultural sector for about 13 years. After studying Arts, Culture and Media and Communication in Groningen, she started out in marketing at Forum Groningen. She then joined the Fries Museum and the Princessehof National Museum of Ceramics in Leeuwarden as senior marketing manager. Later, she took up positions as project leader and sustainability coordinator at the museums.
Alex:
“We have been looking for a managing director to strengthen the organization and to put the festival on a better financial footing. We are extremely pleased to have Lisa on board. In the short time since she joined the team, she has proven that she is a real asset to CAMERA JAPAN with new ideas and insights. With her help, we hope to make the festival even better in the coming years.”
Lisa:
“I’m so happy and honoured to be appointed Managing Director at CAMERA JAPAN. Before my first official day at work, I experienced the festival in both Rotterdam and Amsterdam. It was not only great fun, but also the best possible introduction a cinephile could have had to CAMERA JAPAN. I look forward to growing this unique festival together with Alex and the enthusiastic team who have welcomed me so warmly.
We have big plans for 2025 when CAMERA JAPAN celebrates its 20th anniversary. From there, it’s onward and upward!”
