The 2023 edition of CAMERA JAPAN Festival will take place from 21 to 24 September in Rotterdam and from 28 September to 1 October in Amsterdam. To strengthen our team and to help us create another great festival experience, we are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator.
Please note that all positions in the CAMERA JAPAN team are on a voluntary basis. In return, we offer you a fantastic festival experience as part of a group of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers.
As Volunteer Coordinator working in a team of two, you are the point of contact for all volunteers at CAMERA JAPAN in the lead-up to and during the festival. Together with the Production Coordinator, you are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the festival to make sure everything runs smoothly.
In the lead-up to the festival, you will handle the volunteer recruitment process. You will also be responsible for setting up the volunteer schedule. During the festival you will make sure our volunteers know what to do, where and when.
You are:
• A good communicator
• An excellent planner;
• Proficient in English and Dutch;
• A team player
• A good problem solver
• Flexible and able to handle stressful situations
• Available in the run-up to and during the festival
It’s a plus if you also have
• Affinity with Japan, film and culture
• Some technical knowledge, especially of audiovisual equipment
What we expect:
• You will recruit volunteers and be their main point of contact.
• You will take care of the planning and practical implementation of the volunteer schedule.
• You will coordinate the day-to-day routine during the festival.
