As you probably know, CAMERA JAPAN is a non-profit festival organised by a team of dedicated volunteers. Like so many other cultural organisations, we depend on subsidies to bring a bit of Japan to the Netherlands. Fortunately, we have good financial support from Rotterdam Festivals, the Nederlands Filmfonds, the Isaac Alfred Ailion Foundation, and the Japan Foundation, but this is not enough to bring guests from Japan. This is a pity because a festival is the ideal place for filmmakers and audiences to meet.
For the fourteenth edition, we hope to bring three up-and-coming directors from Japan to the Festival, but to do this we need your support.
Please have a look at our crowdfunding page on www.voordekunst.nl (in Dutch only) where you will see the different options for contributing. Your contribution can be anonymous, or you may opt for one of the reward levels such as a Japanese snack to enjoy during a film, a CAMERA JAPAN tote bag, a limited edition CAMERA JAPAN t-shirt, an invitation to the opening, a behind-the-scenes tour, or a meet and greet session with the filmmakers.
Another great way to help us is to tell your friends about us, or to share the crowdfunding page on social media.
