We are not kidding! CAMERA JAPAN is launching the 2016 season of Japanese film on April 1 with a screening of Our Family by director Ishii Yuya in the familiar surroundings of the Shofukan Japanese Cultural Center at Charloisse Kerksingel.
The film revolves around a mother who is diagnosed with cancer and is told she only has a short time left to live. Her husband and sons try to cope with the situation as best as they can, but ghosts from the past – the father’s inability to run his own business, and the youngest son’s slacker attitude – slowly drive them apart. What brings them back together is the doctor telling their wife/mother that it’s better if she leaves the hospital to go home and die.
Tickets are 5 euros at the door. Doors open at 19:00. The film starts at 20:00. Japanese drinks will be served.
