A German clown tries to bring joy to the people living in the wrecks of Fukushima after the devastating earthquake and tsunami in 2011. She bonds with an elderly woman who harbours a dark secret in her past. The tragicomic Fukushima Mon Amour is the latest movie from the famous German writer-director Doris Dörrie (Kirschblüten–Hanami), shot on location in Fukushima itself.
Een Duitse clown probeert de lokale gemeenschap in Fukushima op te vrolijken na de aardbeving en tsunami van 2011. Ze sluit vriendschap met een bejaarde vrouw die een duister geheim met zich meedraagt. Het tragikomische Fukushima Mon Amour, opgenomen op locatie, is de nieuwste film van befaamde Duitse schrijver-regisseur Doris Dörrie (Kirschblüten–Hanami).
